What materials do you use?

We only use high quality, individually chosen solid natural stone for all our signs. Each is hand finished and polished.

 

How thick are the stone materials you use?

In general all are 20mm but other thicknesses are available. Some small signs require thinner material to ensure correct proportions but this does not affect the sturdiness of the product.

 

Can I see how my sign will look before it is cut to stone? Can I make changes?

Yes - once your order has been received we will send you a confirmation e-mail with a digital proof showing how your sign will look. We’re happy to make as many changes to the design as necessary to ensure you are happy with it.

 

Do you provide fixings?

All signs come with pre-drilled holes and a choice of stainless steel or brass fixings, coloured caps and wall plugs.

 

Do you only make signs that have to be fitted to walls?

No - we can adapt all signs, and provide fixings, so that they can be fitted to any surface, from gates and gate posts to hanging signs and door plaques. We also offer a fitting service to customers based in Essex.

 

I can’t find what I’m looking for - can you make a sign/pet memorial to my design, material and size requirements?

Absolutely - we specialise in creating one-off unique pieces for customers. We are happy to work with you to create what you are looking for, whether it be a specific image or border, different colours and fonts, or a specific size or material. Our design team is happy to offer advice and our digital proofing service enables you to approve the look of your sign/memorial before it is cut to stone.

 

How can I track the progress of my order?

As soon as we’ve received your order a confirmation e-mail will be sent you with a digital proof of how your sign will look. One this you’ve approved this, we will confirm an estimated delivery date with you.

 

How long does delivery take?

Please allow 15 working days for delivery once you have approved the digital sign proof. We will confirm an estimated delivery date but are happy to work with you if you need your order earlier.

 

How will I receive my sign/memorial?

We use couriers (DHL) to deliver your product direct to your door. If you prefer you can collect signs/memorials from us at one of our showrooms - e-mail us to find out which is nearest to you.

 

How do I care for my sign/pet memorial?

All our signs and memorials are made from natural stone and need very little maintenance - they will not rust or rot. Over time, however, the appearance of the stone may alter slightly due to the effects of the weather. For signs and memorials made from slate we advise that they are wiped over with linseed oil once a year - this will help the slate keep it’s natural smooth grey appearance.

 

Do you have a show room that I can visit?

Yes, our signs are on display at Crammonds Designs, Moulsham Street, Chelmsford, and at Crammonds Fireplace Factory Shop, West Station Yard, Maldon. We are also at many garden and country living shows across the home counties - e-mail us to find out where we will be next.
